Organizes in cooperation with several mallorcan cultural orga- nisations, Govern of the Baleares, Consell Insular de Mallorca, Fundacio Pilar y Joan Miro, musical and pedagogical meetings, music workshops, music workshops between and for composers, creators, musicologists, teachers, music students and other artfreaks.
Annual concerts and symposium on the historic organs of Mallor- ca, in the week of Easter.
Promoter of cultural tourism, traditional music, poetry, image- art, musictheatre/dance, historic organs of Mallorca.
Fundacio A.C.A. has its own recordlabel, UM/Unio Musics, edi- ting, semestrial 3 compact discs of contemporary music.

    Avantgarde

    Avantgarde organizes an annual "International Academy for New Composition", 14 days at the end of August/beginning of Septem- ber, with composition courses and instrumental workshops, exhi- bitions, concerts, installations.
    Leaders are Boguslaw Schaeffer for composition and Marek Cholo- niewski for computer composition, with other local and foreign lecturers and musicians. Avantgarde Schwaz cooperates with the Polish art society Muzyka Centrum in Kraków, Poland.

    5th International Academy for New Composition, 25 August - 7 September
    The composition courses are open to composers and all friends of new music. Basic musical knowledge and the willingness to involve the computer into music are, of course, basic conditi- ons to participate. Since each participants receives private lessons and individual instructions in the newest composition techniques, the very special interest and background knowledge of each student will be taken into account.
    The number of participants is restricted to 8. Participation fee: ATS 3.500,-
    Composers who want to participate in the International Academy for New Composition, are kindly requested to send their curri- culum vitae and 2 pages of composition (not whole partitures!) to the address of Avantgarde.
    Deadline selection entries: May 31, 1997
